Hello! I’m Jiayu Ye, you can call me Kugyo!

I am a 2D & 3D motion designer/ Animator currently based in NYC.

I started out making 2D and stop-motion pieces in college, which gave me a solid sense of timing and rhythm. Later, I worked on pre-production art design back in China, and during my MFA I dove deep into motion and design with tools like Cinema 4D, Maya, Nuke, After Effects, and Blender.

What excites me most is the rhythm of motion—it feels like visual music. I also enjoy building 3D assets, getting lost in the details of shapes and textures like they’re my tiny treasures.
